Where is your Joie de Vivre?

Leo New Moon on August 12, 2007 gives us the opportunity to set our wills and emotional energies into fixed patterns of creativity.

At this special time, we may follow the Sun to our own special and perpetual place where we shine in the joy of creative self-actualization.

If you have been feeling a bit dull lately, perhaps a bit melancholy as you review the past, or even a bit overwhelmed with the everday drudgery of an endless chain of tasks, now is the time to shake off the blues and make up your mind to give yourself permission to be creative, permission to dance.

The Sabian Symbol for the 20th degree of Leo says its time to appreciate the joy of being alive:

Our sense of the appreciation of the good things in life should be very much heightened during the next lunar cycle because this Leo New Moon is trine Jupiter, and both the Sun and Jupiter are in their own signs. Between Sun and Jupiter, merriment abounds.

However, since Venus is exactly conjunct Saturn in Leo, there could be a hint of sadness, or a tendency to hold back in showing the affections. It would be best to try use this Venus/Saturn energy in the most positive way possible by setting the creative will towards something beautiful and lasting, perhaps a relationship that will stand the test of time, or perhaps the creation of a lasting work of art.

Mercury is conjunct this New Moon, so we are able to use words now in creative ways, and to shine as we articulate our philosophies and beliefs.

The Leo Stellium consisting of Mercury, Moon, Sun, Saturn and Venus is opposing the conjunction of Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius, meaning that the creative articulation of our philosopies must include some sort of belief in humanitarian ideals presented as a salve to the wounds of suffering humanity.

Self and other must be balanced. We cannot shine alone.

The Neptune in Aquarius energy is easily transferred to the North Node and Uranus in Pisces. The Pisces North Node of the Moon stands at the apex of a mutable T-square, involving Jupiter and Sagittarius and Mars in Gemini. We may have much to say, yet have a tendency to misstate or overstate our cases; neverthless, we can solve these problems of faulty self-expression by thinking and communicating in images or metaphors that rely on the creative faculty of imagery. To make the most of our creative self-actualization, there may be for the moment at least, No ideas but in things.

Ultimately, this New Moon contains the potential to actualize your own form of real magic with Pluto at the 27th degree of Sagittarius trine Saturn and Venus at the 28th degree of Leo.
