May 19: (Second) Scorpio Full Moon, 2008

Sol in Taurus opposes Luna in Scorpio at the anaretic degree. We should be finishing up a cycle begun at the previous Scorpio Full Moon on April 20, 2008 at the first degree of Taurus. This is a cycle of purification of the emotional waters, or the release of toxic feelings and memories associated with old hurts that have lingered for a long time.

Time does heal all wounds and this last month has been a purging and purification time for those wishing to let go of the past. Accepting what we cannot change helps us to regain our emotional powers over what we can actually transform.

This Scorpio Full Moon at the anaretic degree is a complicated (Scorpio) read. The Moon trines Uranus in Pisces and sextiles retrograde Jupiter in Capricorn, saying that we are ready emotionally to get off to a new start based upon returning to our old values which are in some way, "written in stone," like the "letter-of-the-law" being now more in harmony with a renewed "spirit of the law." But the Moon opposes Venus which is square to Neptune, so our feelings are not necessarily in harmony with our beliefs, which may be based on what we know to be true. So there is a little something that is probably bothering us that can only be reconciled through some form of release or forgetfulness as in "forgive and forget" in order to move on. There is an out-of-sign square of this Moon to Saturn in Virgo, which again emphasizes the need for purification (Saturn in Virgo). Release is not an easy task (square) but there seems to be no other way to deal with this energy.

May 19: Venus in Taurus squares Neptune in Aquarius at the 25th degree. Sensual gratification is in conflict with ideals based in scientific knowlege. Try to reconcile the desire to have what is beautiful or pleasing with your humanitarian ideals. Finding common ground between enduring values that can be expressed in a tactile way and humanitarian ideals that augment the future is the way to resolve an issue of conscience over wanting to have something that may not be very good for you or for humanity-at-large. A new way is possible. Neptune is getting ready to go retrograde in Aquarius, which will give us plenty of time to review these issues of ideality.
