May 05: Taurus New Moon, 2008

Sol conjuncts Luna in Taurus at the 16th degree. The Taurus New Moon is trine to Jupiter in Capricorn and sextile to Uranus in Pisces. Retrograde Pluto in Capricorn is trine to Saturn in Virgo. This is very good, solid energy for material foundations with potential for growth, but there may be a problem communicating the wisdom inherent in the positive aspects of this chart.

Mercury in Gemini is moving out of an exact square to Saturn in Virgo. The Sabian Symbol for 16 Taurus reads:

OLD MAN TRIES HARD TO IMPART HIDDEN TRUTHS TO A CROWD
Conscious possession of greater knowlege and potentiality than can be used. Great inner fullness. Spiritual loneliness.

This theme of uncommunicable wisdom would be corroborated by Mercury being out-of-bounds, along with Neptune and the North Node of the Moon in the late degrees of Aquarius, a bit too far away to square the Taurus New Moon. A message would miss its mark or be unable to be put into words. Similarly, Mars in Cancer is a bit too far away in the late degrees of Cancer to form a sextile to the Taurus New Moon, indicating that something about memory or social conditioning is out-of-kilter or out-of-reach, as if off-in-the-distance -- something like a generation gap, indeed.

Youthful minds (Mercury in Gemini) may not yet have had time to assimilate the detailed processes of critical thinking that can develop with age and experience. (Saturn in Virgo). As the I-Ching says, "Small knowledge cannot reach great knowledge."

The best way to use this energy to set solid goals for yourself (New Moon in Taurus) would be just to do what you know will work without trying to explain the procedure to others. Enjoy what you value and make your own talents into a prosperous and secure enterprise, but don't expect others to necessarily understand your magic. Do, don't tell. Actions speak louder than words and those who are meant to get the message will benefit from the modeling behavior and somehow learn by osmosis.
