Virgo Solar Eclipse, '06

Horn of Plenty

Reaping, Sowing, Relating

What's your karma and where's your dharma?

Did your duty and hauling in the booty, or is it a tale of woe for what you sow?

This year's Virgo Solar Eclipse is in the very last degree of Virgo, saying we're at the ends of our ropes with the energy of work and service.

Are you the Grasshopper or the Ant, City Mouse or Country Mouse?

As for the situations in Washington and Tehran, we are looking at this Virgo Solar Eclipse in respectively the twelfth and the eighth houses.

Chickens coming home to roost.

Looking at our chart cast for the Virgo Solar Eclipse of 2006 over
Washington, DC at 07:44:55 a.m. EDT, we can't help but notice the twelfth house, which contains the Sun at 29 Virgo 20, eclipsed by the Moon at the same anaretic degree.

Things that are hidden will come out. Hidden plans, hidden writings and hidden works will be made public. Many questions are moot, for the die has already been cast.

This is an annular eclipse, which means a little sliver of the Sun will still be be visible. Using AstroMapping, we see this eclipse in Virgo passes right over the US bread-basket, the farmlands of the Midwest, and goes right down over the Gulf Coast to cast a pall over the wreckage of Hurricane Katrina, still standing as witness to the neglect and abandonment (12th house for Washington, DC) of the neo-con policies of cheapness in domestic affairs (Saturn rules the fourth house.)

In addition, the neglect of the hospitals (Virgo in the twelfth) in the Gulf region stands as karmic reminder of this administration's political policy for the working people of the nation, namely abandonment.

Middle America (eclipse path goes over the Midwest Region of the USA) has gotten the message that it has been forgotten and left behind (twelfth house). Now, with only seven weeks until congressional elections, we see the politicians who have supported an unpopular president (Saturn in Leo in the eleventh) are opposed by the socialistic appeal for humanitarian change coming from the creative sectors of the country: Hollywood actors, creative writers, independent journalists and bloggers.

With Saturn in Leo in the eleventh house opposing Neptune in Aquarius in the fifth house, we see that political scandal is afoot. This opposition is really part of a T-square, with Jupiter as the focal point in the second house of national finances. There will be many scandals concerning the accountability of the defense industry and its Mafia connections that drain the country's finances while City Mouse and Grasshopper dance and play the days and nights away on the working man's tax contributions to the country. Funny how those credit card receipts just appear out of nowhere to be shown to the press.

Venus is in Virgo, making a stellium in the twelfth, so there will be stories related by female workers in factories involving food production and cleanliness that will reveal the lack of of oversight and concern for the public's health. Inspections and sanitation are lacking and undocumented workers are exploited in food factories claiming to sell organic and healthful products. In addition, young female sex workers who are hidden behind the scenes will come forward with stories of human trafficking.

The eclipse is ruled by Mercury who has already moved over to the first house in Libra, where he stands with Mars. There will be no more secrets, for Mercury is spilling the beans at the behest of Mars, who is fighting for truth, justice and fairness.

The president finds he's lost his friends in Congress over the detention issues and habeus corpus. The gulag mentality is revealed to be untenable in a so-called free society (Neptune in Aquarius).

The chief executive (Sun) finds he is eclipsed by the Moon or the working people (Moon in Virgo) as election time nears and it is revealed he has never done his work where they are concerned. Now, as the peace movement takes to the streets in New York City for the United Nations meetings, he finds he is eclipsed by their voice and presence; the Eagle's wings have been severely clipped by recent votes of no confidence in Europe, Britain and the United States itself, coming in poll after poll of citizen and legislator surveys.

The chief executive has to accomodate the hue and cry in the streets for peace and justice, so his press people serve up the same old lies that war is peace (Mercury conjunct Mars in Libra) and that he is fighting for freedom for the people (trine Neptune in Aquarius). Doublespeak floats freely from the White House as Mars transits right over Washington.

Looking at the AstroMap, we see Mars is moving right over Washington, DC, and he is on the warpath with Tehran, in a war of words likely to herald military engagement. Jupiter in Scorpio passes over the Midheaven of Tehran, bringing an increase in destruction to its chief executive. Notice also on the AstroMap that Uranus and Pluto are crossing the borders of Southern Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, indicating sudden outbreaks of death and destruction.

The pope and other religious leaders come under scrutiny as the recent eclipse in Pisces pulls back the curtain on their credibility. Any of them who advocates war in the name of a totalitarian infallibility are revealed to be the creators of strife that they really are.

The recently named dwarf planet Eris, creates a conscious awareness that certain elements of the corporate media representing the Neocons are actively fomenting war and using religious gullibility as the easiest means to their duplicitous ends.

The Virgo Stellium along with the Mercury/Mars conjunction in Libra fall in Tehran's eighth house. The situation for their working classes and for their appeal to peace is detoriating for them and leading to death and destruction.

Many people now are dealing with the effects of the recent lunar eclipse in Pisces. They may, like Tony Blair and Pope Benedict, be licking their wounds after being exposed as the phony liberal or fake humanitarian (Neptune in Aquarius). It's a situation in which certain relationships have been deemed unworkable (opposition to Virgo) and the relationships have been released due to differences in beliefs (Pisces). If this has happened to you, it's probably best to accept the fact that such a separation was probably a long time in the making and the separation was probably long overdue anyway so it's really a situation of good riddance. Just plug up the holes of seeping energy at the South Node of the eclipse in Virgo and carry on with your work with new relationships in a new and better way.

As for planting seeds at this New Moon, I would say the process here is problematic. It's like you're moving out of a house and the heels of your feet are the only things left on the property. Your bags have been packed and already moved from Virgo, where your harvest has been reaped.

If you would like to drop some seeds in Virgo as you leave the property, well, that is okay, but you will not be there to tend them, for now your attention moves forward into Libra, the sign of relationships.

Like the sower of seeds, it will suit your purposes best to scatter those seeds in a forward motion towards Libra, where they will come up in two weeks, on October 6, when the Moon is in Aries at the fourteenth degree, near the place of last Spring's Solar Eclipse on March 29 at the ninth degree of Aries.

Your seeds in new relationships will come up very nicely if you plant them where your own interests will thrive and therefore the relationships will be more likely to endure. We've had to give up some relationships or situations lately, and it would behoove us to cast our seeds wisely, not on rocky ground, nor among thorns, nor in the shade, nor in places without water, but rather in well-cultivated places where they may sprout vigoursly in the sunlight of balanced and equal relationship.

If we should have to thin out the seedlings to give each one adequate space and light and nourishment, so be it.

Seeding Around the Scarecrow Sowing Seeds of Love

It is the nature of love to work in a thousand different ways.

Note: Our Autumn Equinox occurs on September 22, 2006 at 9:04 p.m. PDT. By this time, the Sun and Moon will have moved into peaceful Libra in the fourth house of domestic affairs, where they accompany Mars and Mercury, so there's a nice Libra stellium advocating for peace and justice to influence us domestically until the Spring Equinox. (Cancer, a cardinal sign, is rising.) We need that voice.
